About
Who We Are
Grant Preschool was established on the Grant School campus in 1997 with the vision of preparing students for kindergarten. The preschool has blossomed into a wonderful two-campus program. The Yellow House provides a warm homelike setting—perfect for the younger students to feel safe and comfortable. The Pre-K class is located on the Grant School campus, which creates great opportunities for their success in tk and kindergarten. The students are exposed to the Grant School campus and teachers. Plus, the Pre-K program incorporates the same curriculum used by Grant School. Grant Preschool is “The Bridge to Kindergarten”.
HERE is a great resource to track your child’s developmental milestones.

Curriculum
Our curriculum emphasizes personal growth through art, academics, and activities.
Science
Our science program features teacher-created lessons that explore science through interactive bulletin boards, educational videos, and hands-on activities that are based on classroom themes.
Spark PE
SPARK EC is designed to provide children ages three to five with high activity, academically-integrated, enjoyable movement opportunities that foster social and motor development and enhance school readiness skills. Young children love SPARK EC activities because they are age-appropriate, engaging, rhythmical, and fun.
Handwriting Without Tears
Handwriting Without Tears® is a proven success in making legible and fluent handwriting an easy and automatic skill for students. The curriculum uses hands-on, educationally-sound instructional methods to teach handwriting. The result truly is handwriting without tears!
Second Step
The Second Step Early Learning program has been carefully designed to help teachers guide children to learn, practice, and apply skills for self-regulation and social-emotional competence. This involves using all four core program components: teaching all the Weekly Theme activities, playing the Brain Builder games, reinforcing skills and concepts, and involving families.
Enrichment
Raising a Reader
Raising A Reader rotates bright red bags filled with award-winning books into children’s homes on a weekly basis, exposing children on average to over 100 books per rotation cycle. RAR pairs this book rotation with parent training and information on how to effectively share books to promote family literacy habits, language and literacy skills, and a love of learning.
Music
A certificated music teacher uses songs, movements, music theory, and instruments to build a strong musical foundation. There are four student performances a year. These performances are an excellent way for the children to gain self-confidence in a fun environment.
Library
The students learn the enjoyment of reading from our excellent school librarian. Twice a month, the students visit the library, where the students explore and enjoy stories read by the librarian.
Ready to Read
Parents and teachers work together to advance the beginning reader. Students take home sight words and phonics books to read to their parents.
Security
Safety and security are our priorities.
Grant Preschool uses the latest technology in childcare security. We currently use Brightwheel as our sign in and out process. The software allows us to track who is allowed to pick up a child from the facility. As part of the process, each approved adult has a sign in code that lists all the children they are able to pick-up or drop-off. The process is fast and easy.
Our Brightwheel software provides a quick and easy way to know your child is safe and secure.
