A message from GRANT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Dear Grant Families,

This is Mr. Effa with a Grant School Distance Learning Update. Spring Break officially begins for students Monday, April 6th. Students will remain on break through Monday, April 13. The official first day back for Distance Learning is Aril 14th. The campus will remain closed to students after Spring Break until further notice. The exact date of return has still not been officially determined.

Staff have been working hard these past few weeks in preparation of our transition from enriched learning to required learning. In an effort to provide consistency and continuity starting April 14th, teachers will be hosting at least one hour of daily Zoom connectivity with students. This hour will vary among grades but will consist of a combination of instruction, guided support and/or availability to answer questions and provide academic support. Parents will have access to these scheduled Zoom times once we finalize the schedule.

We are working on troubleshooting issues that may arise for students that have limited access to online instruction. We have researched and are up to date on Zoom safety guidelines to maximize everyone’s security with online learning. Materials will be made available for those needing a hard copy version of curriculum starting Wednesday, April 15th.

We understand there may be more unanswered questions for families out there as we continue with Distance Learning. Therefore, we will host another Grant Family Zoom meeting on Monday, April 13th at 2:00. The Zoom meeting can be accessed with any electronic device. I want to remind families we have our student meal program available next week during Spring Break. Families wanting meals will need to pick up on Monday the 6th from 8:00-9:00am in the district office. Monday will be the only day available for pickup for the week. To receive student meals please submit your request at this link in the accompanying email https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe_EDi2bzwoWdeNbkPJzylAl0rNhTN_fBh35NVyDazLIP2QPg/viewform?usp=sf_link by 6:00 the night before pick up.
