A message from GRANT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Dear Grant Families,

This is Mr. Effa with a Grant School Distance Learning Update. The last day of Spring Break for students is Monday. The official first day back for Distance Learning is Tuesday. The campus will remain closed to students after Spring Break until further notice. The exact date of return has still not been officially determined.

On Tuesday we will begin the required learning component of Distance Learning. In an effort to provide consistency and continuity, teachers will be hosting at least one hour of daily Zoom time with students. This hour will vary among grades but will consist of a combination of instruction, guided support and/or availability to answer questions and provide academic support. Parents will have access to these scheduled Zoom times once we finalize the schedule.

Our staff has been trained on the logistics and security of video conferncing and are excited about having the opportuntiy to connect with students this week. Our Education technology team has been hard at work securing the safety of our students during Distance Learning. We have put in place all of the security options for our Zoom meetings. Meetings will be locked to only students and they will not be allowed to join until given permission.

We are working on troubleshooting issues that may arise for students that have limited access to online instruction. Materials will be made available for those needing a hard copy version of curriculum starting Wednesday, April 15th.

We want to remind you of our Grant Family Zoom meeting scheduled for Monday at 2:00 to connect and answer questions that may be coming up regarding Distance Learning. The Zoom meeting can be accessed with any electronic device. I also want to remind families we will continue with our student meal program. Families wanting meals can pick up on Tuesday or Wednesday from 8:00-9:00am in the district office. To receive student meals please submit your request at this link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe_EDi2bzwoWdeNbkPJzylAl0rNhTN_fBh35NVyDazLIP2QPg/viewform by 6:00 the night before pick up.
