Hello and happy Wednesday everyone.  This is Mr. Freeman emailing from Grant Elementary School and it makes me sad to say that this is your last Wednesday of your summer because one week from today we kick off the 2017-18 school year.  Summer has been great but I am excited to get everyone back.  Tonight I wanted to pass along some valuable information to get everyone ready to come back.  Let’s start with next Tuesday evening.  We will be posting class lists at 4:00 outside the office and this year Grant Cheer is sponsoring the event.  They have invited our friends at Rico’s Tacos to come on out for a good old fashioned Taco Tuesday.  You can bring the family out to check the list and then swing by the food truck for anything from Rico’s lunch menu.  Items range from $5 to $10 per plate (CASH ONLY) and a bottle of water is included.  Choose from a 2 taco plate or a 4 taco plate.  He will have burritos or burrito bowls.  He can even hook you up with a plain cheese quesadilla if you want.  Remember, cash only.  Speaking of cash, Grant Cheer will be selling Ducky Derby tickets as a fundraiser for their Cheer activities this year.  That is this Tuesday from 4:00-5:30.  I also have important information for all of our volleyball players.  Volleyball starts up pretty early in the school year so for girls in grades 6-8 there will be an organized Open Gym starting up next week.  August 14th-15th it will be from 8:30-10:30 and August 16-17 it will be after school from 3:15-5:00.  Participants must have a signed Athletic Permission Slip packet to participate and you can print one out from our new and improved web site.  Just go to grantschoolcougars.com and click on the forms button.  Even better…just click here.  Tryouts for volleyball will be during the second week of school so come and take advantage of the Open Gym time.  It is also that time of year to get your new Grant School gear.  The Grant School Web Store will be opening up this Monday, August 14th and will be open until September 5th.  Check it out and get all the latest Grant gear styles.  To access the Web Store click on the banner on our home page starting August 14th.  Okay, I am way over my time but I do appreciate you taking the time to hear me out.  Bottom line, school starts next Wednesday so live up what is left of the summer.  Check us out on Facebook for all of the latest information as we count down.  Thanks for choosing Grant School and GO COUGARS!
